Dear Doctor,

I am a 52 years old male in Hong Kong.  Today I just received unprotected oral sex from a female sex worker.

After the oral sex,  I found several red cuts  on my penile head that should be caused by the teeth biting of the sex workers.

Doctor, can you please tell me what is my risk of HIV infection by saliva of the sex worker through the cuts on my penile head?  (If the sex worker is infected)

Do I need to test for HIV?

Welcome to the forum. But this question is really no different than innumerable other ones and the answers are the same:  It is unlikely your partner had HIV; and when someone has HIV, the risk of transmission by oral sex (mouth to penis) is so low that many experts believe it is no risk at all (one estimate by CDC is once for every 20,000 events).  In theory if there are bite wounds associated with oral sex, the risk might be higher -- but still extremely low.  From a risk assessment perspective, you do not need HIV testing.  However, you might want to do it for peace of mind.  In other words, if this reassurance doesn't settle your fears, it's fine with me if you want to have an HIV test in a few weeks.  You can expect negative results.
